One of my goals for 2008 is to jazz up sean.blog with some multimedia. I am planning to do a weekly spot called 4 minutes with:, where I will record a 4 minute video or screencast on something that is interesting to me that week. This is episode #1. I recently purchased an EEE PC, and one of it’s primary uses is as an Internet machine. Besides Firefox, the other main Internet application I install on any computer is FeedDemon for reading RSS feeds. This video is a quick look at how FeedDemon can be setup to work real nice on the EEE PC.

I have FeedDemon setup with some keystrokes that work well for me. You can configure pretty much every keystroke, and add a keystroke to pretty much any function by pressing CTRL+K in FeedDemon. I have FeedDemon configured to show the Popular Topics page by pressing F7, and show the subscriptions page by pressing CTRL+Home. The Ctrl+F11 key toggles the display of the sidebar, and F11 toggles the feed item list view. Keystrokes are a huge plus on the EEE PC since you can pretty much hold this thing in two hands and drive it like a mobile device with a thumb board, plus the touchpad (while very nice) is a bit small.
Sorry about the mouse clicks, and the sort of garbled audio in some spots. Still working on the whole process.
