Pearland, TX residents have a couple of choices to relax, chat, drink coffee, and enjoy some free wifi. One of those places is the Antigua Coffee House on FM 518. I don’t get out for coffee, and relaxation too much, but I did have a chance today. I had seen the Antigua place previously, and thought I would try it out. I arrived to find the place pretty much empty, one other customer getting an order to go, and myself. Behind the counter was the owner, Juan Castillo. I ordered up my drink of choice (medium sized Latte), and grabbed out my laptop. Wireless connected up fast and easy, and my coffee was ready in no time. The Antigua Coffee House specializes in Guatemalan coffees, as is evident from the decor. Pictures from Guatemala adorn the walls, and the furniture (a combination of couches and table/chairs are styled to represent the culture. The coffee bar has a slight smell of burlap and coffee from the large bags of coffee hung on racks around the shop.
It would appear that they grind their coffee in house, and perhaps roast some as well. The latte I had as very good, nice full flavor, especially for a drink that is mostly milk. If you live in Pearland this is a nice little shop to stop in and visit. I can see the Antigua as a nice place for geeks to gather, share some wifi and generally geek out. The small tables would also work well for a two or three player board game.
You can find the Antigua Coffee House at 5201 Broadway in Pearland.

As a former houstonian, I’m familiar with Pearland, and I’m glad to hear that there is a nice independent coffee house that offers free wifi and good coffee. Maybe they should try to get some in-store events going to get more customers, or some gamers in there.
I hope it gets some foot traffic and becomes a successful business. It looks nice from your pics.
