Board Game Search

Google announced a new service this morning, Custom Search. The custom search feature is very similar to the services offered by Rollyo and Windows Live, allowing you to define a group of sites to be searched from within the entire Google collection. Custom search also allows you to include refinements to search so that it is faster to drill down to a specific set of results. The whole thing is now part of the Google Co-op service which was created last year to allow people to better refine over all search results.

I went ahead and created a custom search engine this morning. My search engine attempts to provide access to a web’s worth of board game information, starting with Board Game Geek. I have also started including board game blogs. I have included refinements so you can quickly find reviews of board games, or limit you search to only BGG.

I have added a search box to my home page for this new search engine, or you can simply visit the Board Game Search page at Google.
