What is Google Thinking?

They are messing with my head. I had given up on finding a purely online reader that I liked. I wanted to like Google Reader, but the lack of a Mark all as Read feature kept me away.

I decided yesterday, not on the last day of my free trial mind you, to purchase FeedDemon from Newsgator and Nick Bradbury. I have used FeedDemon in the past, and I liked what I saw in 2.0. I really wanted to go all online, but the experience was important also. The ability to synch my copies of FeedDemon on my desktop and laptop, combined with the mobile access, sold me on the FeedDemon solution. That was YESTERDAY!!!

The new Google Reader looks very nice. They really have made “Your inbox for the web“. Of course they added the Mark all as Read which I was so anxiously waiting for. They didn’t add the ability to search through my feeds though, and this is a feature I am quite liking with FeedDemon. The home page is a nice addition, but it looks a bit cramped.

Overall I am not disappointed in my decision to purchase FeedDemon, and I will be sticking with it. But I really want to know why Google could not release the update yesterday. :)

p.s. I posted this from MS Live Writer again. I like it. Performancing might not be as secure as I thought.
