“New”dle Kaboodle

I mentioned last night that changes were afoot at Kaboodle. I checked them out this morning, started playing around with the new features, and I like what they have done with the place. The changes are not radical, the site looks basically unchanged from yesterday, but they have added some new navigation and display options.

You can read about the new features on the Kaboodle blog, but I wanted to mention two of the new features which I particularly like. The first is the new sections feature. Sections allow you to better organize content on a single page. I have a Gaming Wishlist page, very out of date I realized, which used to be a jumble of games of all types I was interested in buying. With the sections feature I can group them by game type, or perhaps I might decide to group them by priority of my desire to buy them. The sections show up as a blue shaded header on the page. I have added a couple of groups, currently by game type, to the Game Wishlist page. Its a very simple thing on the page, but quite nice for organizing large lists of items. The other change I like, although I have not really gotten to try it yet, is the groups feature. Groups are a nice social function of any site and make finding related content much easier. I plan to play with the groups function later this week. The new profile options also increase the social usefulness of the site.

I am still looking at the other new features, especially the new travel itinerary function and the lowest price feature. If you use Kaboodle, check out the new features. If you are new to Kaboodling you might want to take a peek and see if you find a service that is useful to you there.
